PUN18
One of my favorite graffiti artist of all time is PUN18 from Puerto Rico. His style and ways of putting colors together is like no other. He has out of this world imagination and color combos that will last for days. Take the time to read his bio and visit his website it will WOW you out of your seat. http://elpun18.com
Pun18 was born September 22, 1985 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. From his childhood he had a fascination with drawing in specific, the “comics” and animated series. Influences that inspired him to create their own characters. At 10 years old, met the world of graffiti and not until 15 years of age when he decides to engage in the art. What began as a hobby became his career. At the beginning of this stage, came to participate in exhibitions in and outside Puerto Rico, in countries such as Spain, France,Germany, Belgium, Canada and the United States. His current work involves in addition to the graffiti style, comics, animation, pop art and surrealism style . The concept of his work is based on personal experiences and social criticism, with a range of bold colors with the intention of highlighting what interests and concerns of the society we live in today.

Growing in Numbers

Music Defines Me @ The Future's Show
Even though we haven’t been around long we still have many people that support our beliefs. We just wanna take some time to thank all of our loyal fans.
One set of friends we want to thank is The Future Dance Center. The Future Dance Center placed a large order with us for their last recital. There were several different designs in their last show. The show itself was spectacular. There was a lot of great dances with some good music. The crowd showed a lot of energy and it turned out to be a great experience for everyone.

Blastman appearance @ The Future's Show
Since we have such loyal supporters we have been able to grow as a company. The SHADESOFREDD team has been extremely busy trying to improve the quality of our products while promoting positivity and a love for music. Each day our numbers are growing and we have no one else to thank except all of you .

I’m in the House!
Just doing my usual surfing through electro-house music when I noticed that Steve Aoki, the all-awesome owner and dj/artist on Dim Mak Records has a new single out featuring Zuper Blahq. I don’t know if the rhymes do anything for me (sorry Zuper) but the video is visually tantalizing. Very trippy and colorful where it counts. Almost hypnotizing. The jumping and falling totally reminds me of, “That 70′s Show.” Oh, this is of course just a rumor but at the end of watching this video, I saw a few fans note that the masked Zuper Blahq is none other than Will.I.Am from Black Eyed Peas. Then I’m like, “yeah it does kinda sound like him!” I know the Black Eyed Peas last album had some heavily influenced electro beats on it. What do you know, maybe we’ll see some more from Will.I.Am on the electro scene. Definitely not as cool a mask as Deadmau5 or Daft Punk but who am I to judge. Hope I didn’t ruin it for ya. Enjoy!

Deadmau5' awesome mask

Daft Punk's even more awesomer robot masks
Our Facebook Group has 1000 Members?!?!
Thank you for your loyal support. Our Facebook group page currently has over 1000 members. With just over a year and a half under our belt we are moving along at a steady pace.
We never could have imagined that this movement could have taken off so quickly. We really could not have done it without everyone’s help.
Thanks again to everyone that believed in us and has helped get us this far.
Finally a name you can Trust!
The newest design over at the Shadesofredd headquarters has made it’s way into the sunlight! Not that you would expect anything less than freshness, but the new look we have taken on is definitely pulled right out from a ziplock baggy. We all know that times are hard and now more than any, people need something to trust in. Look no further, you can Trust the Blastman! This design is available in 4 different colors, a smoke grey, maroon, black and for those bright sparks we have our classic teal color. If you notice too, we have made a few changes in the details which we think you might like… I mean LOVE. There are now loop tags on the sleeve, a little different inside tag and our awesome logo is now on the bottom right corner. Of course you know where to get them so don’t let them be sold out before you scoop up yours. Let music define you and what you do!

Blastman Sighting on SYTYCD!
I am sure many of you have heard the news but for those of you who haven’t… There was a blastman sighting on the hit television show So You Think You Can Dance. Our good friend Tony Bellissimo proudly wore a SHADESOFREDD blastman shirt on national television.

Tony was a Top 20 Finalist for Season 5 of “So You Think You Can Dance”. Although Tony was voted off of the show we are proud of him and his accomplishments.
Tony also gave a Music Defines Me shirt to Phillip Chbeeb who is still competing on the show. Good luck Phillip!

Dat Kid from Cleveland – Kid Cudi
Just browsing the net and found this mixtape out there. Thought there might be some equally eagerly awaiting fans that would love this as much as I do. It’s like Christmas in April! Click here to download the mixtape. Particularly love the track “Switchin Lanes.” Not to take anything away from the Cudi but I am just curious as to why more rap artists don’t collaborate over electronic beats. The beat for the last song on this mixtape, “Can I Be” is taken from LCD Soundsystem’s “Someone Great.”

Oh, here is also a bonkers video for Buggin. Saw this a few weeks ago on this other blog which I also frequent, ChuckNuchuck’s Galaxy and didn’t really know where it came from. Pretty original video though and who doesn’t love a sense of humour? It’s nice to see that people are embracing the martian.
U4ria Dance Studio
South Florida has one of the strongest dance communities in the United States. From Hip Hop Culture to the Latin vibes of Salsa.
One of South Florida’s most prized dance studios is U4ria Dance Studio. Known for their unique style and diversity, U4ria has performed at big events such as Calle Ocho and Americas Best Dance Crew (MTV). They have also made there mark on the underground scene by performing at countless events all over the United States.

What turned the heads of the SHADESOFREDD boys is U4ria’s strong support for the South Florida community. Influencing kids of all ages, and spreading the positivity of Music and Dance, not only inside the studio but also at community events. SHADESOFREDD is proud to have the U4ria Dance Studio perform at our annual Dance Showcase on May 21st at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
Check out U4ria’s New Demo Reel, and see some of their accomplishments, performances, and most definitely check out the SHADESOFREDD gear that the U4ria Dance Crew is rockin!!
Charmed to meet you!
So I don’t know about any of you other cereal killers out there but I am charmed to meet the new addition to the Lucky Charms family, (pun absolutely intended)! I have always wanted to be able to stop time… This is a new day for cereal lovers around the globe and one can only wonder what the new charm will be if we fast forward 10 years from now? Possibly a SHADESOFREDD collabo with General Mills? Only time will tell. I would be the happiest boy alive if there was a blastman marshmallow charm in the box or maybe even a toy buried somewhere in that whole grain goodness and marshmallows. We’ll see…

Brand new hourglass marshmellow!

Stell*R, our favorite dj’s favorite dj has blessed us with a new house session mix. Download it here to get amped up for this month’s festivities. Put it on your iPod, burn it to a disc, give it to your girlfriend and tell her you made it or just dance to it like nobody’s watching, but make sure to put on a blastman first. Thanks Stell*R! Keep up the good work man, nuff respect!
You Don’t Need Me – Bishop feat. Casely
If you don’t already know how hard Casely has been working, then it’s time to pay some attention. I don’t even think it’s humanly possible to have a smoother voice than this dude but good luck trying. Going black and white was definitely a good look for this video cause the colors that jump out at you, really stick in your head and make it hard to forget. I definitely won’t forget it and how being Fresh 25/7 should look… Check out some more of J. Young’s videos here… Of course you know that Casely’s debut album, 1985 is about to drop, right? And when it does, I’m ready to party like its 1985 for the next twenty-something years. Be sure to check my dude, Casely cause quality music like his doesn’t show up every day.
SHADESOFREDD hits Pinkghost!
A few weeks back was one of our most exciting times since the beginning of SHADESOFREDD. We had our release party at Pinkghost! It was really “the bomb, oh-a-oh!” This is the first store in Florida to carry SHADESOFREDD. We have been going to Pinkghost for the best vinyl toys for a while and just thought it would make sense that if we are into the same things, then why not be friends. You can now purchase SHADESOFREDD tees online through Pinkghost in the apparel section. Pinkghost always has events going on too, like trading parties for hardcore collectors, a recording booth if you wanna make your own music and also exhibitions in their gallery support the local artists of Fort Lauderdale. I personally get lost in that store and could spend the day if I’m not careful. Leading up to our release we got a little write-up in the Broward County New Times. That was a good feeling and a great way to head into the following week anticipating our Pinkghost release party. The title really cracks me up. Take a look
Stell*R (the boss) was pretty amazing on the tables as always. The support you guys gave was tremendous and the dancing… oooooh the wonderful dancing! Even Redd dusted off his kicks and showed a little flava. Check out these videos that our homies Gio and Suaknee put together for us. If you were there, you know it was some magic. If not, you might not want to miss the next time…
If you have never been in Pinkghost, do yourself a favor and stop by the store (and pick up a SHADESOFREDD tee) at 21 West Las Olas Boulevard, Suite B in the Laudy-Daudy. Thanks for all your support and remember Pinkghost loves you the most!
Check out Sausage working the booth. What a memorable night!
These are some of the pics that my friend Chris Bellus took that night for the New Times
